![12 February 2025; Leinster Rugby have given their support to the IRFU Charitable Trust and their 2025 Rugby Ball. In attendance at the announcement alongside Leinster head coach Leo Cullen and players Scott Penny and Will Connors are, from left, IRFU Charitable Trust communications and fundraising manager Marc Sheridan, former player Ciarán McCarthy, IRFU Charitable Trust head of operations Linda Black, IRFU Charitable Trust committee member Ollie Campbell and IRFU Charitable Trust chair Michael Whelan. The IRFU Charitable Trust Rugby Ball, held in association with the Vodafone Foundation, is the Trust’s largest annual fundraising event. This year’s event will take place on Friday, March 7th, at The Round Room at The Mansion House, kicking off at 7 pm. Funds raised will support the 36 seriously injured rugby players and their families across Ireland’s four provinces. The guest of honor for the 2025 Rugby Ball will be Ciarán McCarthy, who sustained a serious injury while playing for CYM RFC, Terenure, in 2002. He visited Leinster Rugby HQ in UCD this morning to meet with Leinster head coach Leo Cullen and members of the squad.
